Stefano Mirti (Id-Lab)

Stefano Mirti (1968). Having trained as an architect (and being one of the founders of Cliostraat), opportunity has driven him to become a teacher (since January 2007 he has been the coordinator of the NABA Milano Design School), while passion sees him operational as a designer (he is one of the partners of Id-Lab). His various enterprises include three years in Tokyo and five at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea.

The multiverse (or meta-universe) is the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes (including our universe) that together comprise all of reality. The different universes within the multiverse are sometimes called parallel universes. The structure of the multiverse, the nature of each universe within it and the relationship between the various constituent universes, depend on the specific multiverse hypothesis considered.
Multiverses have been hypothesized in cosmology, physics, astronomy, philosophy, theology, transpersonal psychology and fiction, particularly in science fiction and fantasy.
(from Wikipedia: “Multiverse”, August 2008)

So, now we know that multiverse has been addressed in all of the above mentioned disciplines.  Then, an hypothetic question comes to our mind: how do we decline multiverse in design field? Is it possible to design, prototype and build an parallel universe with the designer’s tools? How would it look like?
